Winter Yoga Day 2023 with Steve Hornbacher

Join us in celebration of BKS Iyengar's birthday for our annual winter Yoga Day!

· Asana Class 1:00-2:30pm     *Please come by 12:45pm in order to be seated and ready for class at 1pm.

· Social Hour: Refreshments and Conversation 2:30-3:30pm

WHERE

· In person at the St Paul Yoga Center

Yoga Day will be in-person only and we hope you can join us at the St. Paul Yoga Center.

Over the past two years, we have struggled to provide a satisfactory hybrid experience. Many of you have signed up for workshops and events and have expressed disappointment in the quality of hybrid offering. As an all-volunteer board, we currently lack the expertise and the equipment to execute a hybrid experience that is truly valuable. We’ve also used vendors that were unable to deliver to the expectations. If anyone in our community is willing to assist, please reach out to any of the 2024 board members. We appreciate your participation in this process, and look forward to building our Iyengar Yoga community in 2024.

The annual vote to elect new board members to the board will be conducted via email. Look for an email from IYAUM in mid-December and please vote!"

TEACHER

· Steve Hornbacher, CIYT

Steve has been practicing Iyengar Yoga since 1997 and teaching since  2002.  He holds a Level II certification, having studied primarily with  Kristin Chirhart and Lee Sverkerson at the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Center of  Minneapolis. Steve first traveled to India in 2004 for the celebration  of Geeta Iyengar's 60th birthday, returning for a full month of study in  2006, 2015, and 2017. He lives in Decorah, IA with his wife Thea (who  is also a certified Iyengar instructor), 6-year-old daughter Sigrid, and  three cats. In his classes Steve strives to convey both the practical  and philosophical aspects of yoga as prescribed by the Iyengars and the  line of Gurus reaching back to the sage Patanjali, compiler of the Yoga  Sutras.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Students of all levels.

COST: Free for IYAUM Members, $15 for Non-Members
